The Last Leg of Our Trip

Thank you for following along with me on our trip in Kiki. This is the last post of our trip.
While driving home we were coming back through Louisiana and stopped for the night at Frenchman's Wilderness Campground and RV Park right off I-10 in Beau Bridge. We payed $29 to stay the night were escorted to our site.
This was a nice well kept campground with lots of space between sites.
Here's Kiki all set up and raring to go.
George is waiting for me to tour the grounds on our bike. Hop on yours and join us.
As I said, the campground was very well kept.
The campground is located across the levee from the Atchafalaya Basin and we rode our bikes along the levee road.
This camp has 140 sites! There were some tents and lots of campers and a few RVs. You could tell some of the campers were long term.
Better not go in there - probably alligators! Yikes! :)
Cute little play area. The employees were so nice and helpful. There is a little store for drinks, ice creams and a few little staples. We visited with a campers who were just lovely.
Look at the mistletoe up in those trees. All of those brown things on the ground were fire pits.
George was getting the coals ready to grill us some pork chops! He was enjoying the day.
Here is our little portable grill we bought to take in Kiki. She unfolds right out of the box and is so easy to open up. After the ashes cool down we just pour them out and clean up the grill with a little soapy water and it's ready to poke back into it's box.
Dinner's ready! The butterfly pork chops turned out beautifully, I baked a potato and we had salad. Great little meal. Oh, and ice cream, can't forget the ice cream, from the little campground store.

Now, this was a great park with electricity, water, sewer, wifi - but you have to pay a small fee for the wifi. There are showers and a laundry. During the holidays there are all kinds of activities. They told us during Mardi Gras, they let loose some chickens and the little children try to catch them! ;) What a hoot.
Would we come back here? We would.

Well, that's all of our trip. This was the longest we've ever been away in Kiki. It was lots of fun but now I'm tired. You know it's tiring having fun! Thanks for following along with me.

Happy trails,
Shelia ;)

  7. I loved riding through the campground with you! It was such a pretty spot for your overnight stay. I told my sweetheart we need a little grill like yours. We have a small gas grill that does a nice job but the flavor isn't the same as a charcoal grill. Ice cream while camping! Ah, what a sweet treat. Seeing your adventures makes me want to take off and hit the road. Soon! We will!

I'm so happy you stopped by and would love for you to comment so I'll know you've been to see me. I'll do my very best to respond to your comments too.
